These golden hands were ordered from Urban Outfitters and shipped from the States, we then spray painted them to an antique gold tone and they hold all of our goodies. You’re welcome to shake hands with them too.

There are a pros and cons of having an adorable Chihuahua as a sales assistant:

Pros: He’s our best weapon in luring in customers, he doesn’t bark and he provides good entertainment for kids

Cons: He doesn’t have any product knowledge and sometimes he is more attractive than our garments…and he sometimes ‘sleeps on the job’

I love taking Shop Chic photos of our gorgeous customers, here are a few well-dressed ladies that was caught with our lens.

I love the Egyptian Isis pendant she’s wearing and her hip/grungy look.

’3′s a party!” There’s no better way to spend a day shopping, except shopping with your besties. Shopping should be an experience, not just a transaction. We have 5 senses and they are all important when it comes to shopping. We feel more comfortable in a warm, fragrant store with friendly greetings and good customer service, we all enjoy running our fingers through luxurious fabrics and seeing how these garments flatter our figures. These are a few things that online shopping cannot offer. Also, you can’t take your best friends online shopping.

Columbian roses and Candles

A few weeks back I saw a ridiculously large bunch of roses at a florist in the Melbourne CBD. The huge bulbs caught my eye as they sat quietly in a bucket surrounded by the smaller varieties. ‘Columbian roses’, the florist remarked. ‘Sold!’ I replied. I’m not sure if they come from Columbia (jet-setter flowers, anyone?) or if they’re named after a certain Columbia…

They captured my heart. Even as they wilted, a customer remarked that ‘They even die beautifully’, or at least ‘age gracefully’ as I echoed her.

There is no beauty like flowers. They are the models of the natural world. God created them for our viewing pleasure and enjoyment.

Another pleasure in life is decadent candles- no one makes candles like Laduree. The sweet aromas of French perfume is bottled in a ceramic cup with embossed angles and bows. If you’re heading to Paris any time soon, don’t forget to purchase some for an unparalleled scented experience.

We have this quirky vase at the shop in the shape of a headless bust. A few of our favourite things to share with you…

Fashion Rebels

Recently our boutique was hijaked by the beautiful Natarsha of Fashion Rebel, and her gorgeous team to shoot some on-site glamour photos for her blog. She managed to get pieces from nearly every of our labels and styled them to perfection. Even our new one-off hats by Melbourne/Dubai miliner Karen Hamilton were featured, and so was Theodore!

Sitting pretty, the top is actually the Karla Spetic Charlotte dress.

Natarsha is an aspiring stylist and has worked for a PR firm in the States, so she’s not just a pretty face. =)

Grecian Influence

One of the most popular tops in our store is the Alldressedup silk top with braid in mint. We only have a Large size left, so I improvised and put it on the mannequin as a one-shouldered top. Man I love anything Grecian. One-shouldered tops and dresses are so feminine and always win compliments.

The Dress That Was

A month ago we ordered one of the last velvet ‘Kate’ dresses from Karla Spetic. The 3 knot dress is a signature piece from her collection, you may have seen the ‘Fontaine’ dress from her previous collection, they all have 3 knots but they are placed differently each season. The velvet dress is a stunner and I was hoping to buy it for myself. But a beautiful lady came and whisked it away after the dress had not even landed in the shop for 24 hours. Same with the Aris Geldis Paris necklace, how huge are the Swarovski crystals?. Both beauties gone…

So we replaced the dress with another Karla creation- the 2 tone grey Bree dress.
